Trying something new for 2013! Its called Don’t Break The Chain (technically I’ve already broken the chain, but it was a Sunday and so far the calendar has really boosted my productivity which I still consider a win!)
My characters have found themselves wandering through a cemetery, so I decided to head over to East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento to snap some pictures and a jot down a few notes to help me write the scene.
A happy Lyra, after a long walk. After reading this post about Neil Gaiman and his dog Cabal, it really made me realize how important our dogs can be to us writers. She really is my writing partner. Keeping me company while I work at home and when I go out to do a little research. Letting me know when I should take a break and just have some fun. I would be so lonely working without her. When we first flew to California about a year ago she flew out with us but there were a few awful horrible minutes when we were at the airport and I thought we were going to have to leave her behind. I cried, sitting there on the carpet next to her travel kennel, because I couldn’t imagine doing this thing, writing full time, without her. Thankfully she was able to fly with us and she was such a trooper! So here’s to our awesome pets who help us every day with their presence, happiness and energy! =)
I love collecting new pens! This one is made out of 89% recycled content. How cool is that?
And finally my new favorite sugar cookie recipe! I adjusted it a bit, using one cup sugar and one half cup brown sugar, with brown sugar sprinkled on top. They go great with the gallons of coffee I drink while I write!
Hope you had a great week!

I’m still not able to muster enough stamina for a full chain. Some days I’m just super productive, and on others I can only procrastinate. Plus, my writing suffers greatly when I try to force myself to write when I’m not feeling it.
. I know what you mean about pets, My parrot always lends me an ear when I need to talk haha.
Oh, and Lyra is cute
Cheers,
Johnny.
